CIFC's senior management team of Peter Gleysteen, Steve Vaccaro and Oliver Wriedt average 30 years of experience in having managed credit businesses in every cycle since the 1980's. CIFC professionals possess leveraged finance, principal investing, loan trading, restructuring, workout, legal and asset management experience, and prior to joining CIFC worked at, among other institutions, JP Morgan Chase (and its predecessor institutions Chase Manhattan Bank and Chemical Bank), GoldenTree Asset Management and Caxton Associates and The Blackstone Group in various credit, investment, and firm management capacities.
The Firm combines what it believes are the best underwriting, portfolio management and value maximization practices to generate attractive and consistent returns for investors. As of December 31, 2012, CIFC managed $11.8 billion in AUM from corporate loan based solutions, and serves more than 200 institutional investors in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Founded in 2005, CIFC is an SEC-registered investment adviser and is headquartered in New York City. Our primary shareholders include Charlesbank Capital, Columbus Nova, GE Capital, CIFC management as well as public shareholders. CIFC conducts asset management activities through its principal subsidiary, CIFC Asset Management LLC, in addition to Deerfield Capital Management LLC, CypressTree Investment Management, LLC and Columbus Nova Credit Investments Management LLC. CIFC Asset Management, Deerfield Capital Management, and CypressTree Investment Management are SEC-registered investment advisers. CIFC was formed by the merger of Commercial Industrial Finance Corp. and Deerfield Capital Corp. on April 13, 2011.
